Charlotte Experiences Record-Breaking Temperature This Christmas
On December 25, Charlotte recorded an unprecedented temperature of 79 degrees at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. This figure surpasses the previous Christmas Day record of 77 degrees set in 1955.
The National Weather Service confirmed that this year’s temperature was 26 degrees above the average Christmas Day high of 53 degrees. Meteorologist Jeffrey Taylor from the Greenville-Spartanburg Weather Forecast Office highlighted that a broad pattern of warm weather affected the entire Southeast region.
Weather Outlook Following Christmas
As the festivities concluded, a temperature dip was expected. A high of around 60 degrees was forecasted for Friday, marking a significant drop from Christmas Day.

- A notable cold front will arrive on Tuesday, dropping temperatures to the mid-40s.
