Influencer “Broadway Husbands” Passes Away at 46
Bret Hanna-Shuford, a beloved former Broadway actor and part of the online duo known as the Broadway Husbands, has passed away at the age of 46.

Bret’s death occurred in Orlando after a prolonged battle with a rare and aggressive form of lymphoma along with HLH. His husband, Stephen Hanna-Shuford, announced the news, expressing their profound sorrow. “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that we said goodbye to the most amazing man,” Stephen wrote.

Personal Life
Bret was born in Beaumont, Texas, and earned a BA in theater from Wagner College in 2001. He and Stephen met in 2007 and married in 2011 in Greenwich, Connecticut. The couple welcomed their son, Maverick, in 2022.
Recently, their family had relocated to Orlando, where Bret started his graduate studies at the University of Florida. He was also in the process of writing a children’s book titled *Good Night, Break a Leg*, set to be published this summer by Penguin Workshop.
