Complete List of 2026 Annie Awards Nominees Unveiled
The nominations for the 2026 Annie Awards have been announced, recognizing excellence in animation for films and television. The event celebrates outstanding achievements in the animation industry. This year’s ceremony will take place on February 21 at Royce Hall, UCLA.
Top Nominated Films
Leading the nominations are two films, Elio from Pixar Animation Studios and KPop Demon Hunters from Sony Pictures Animation for Netflix, each receiving a total of ten nominations. They are competing for the prestigious title of Best Feature along with:
- Little Amélie or the Character of Rain (Maybe Movies, Ikki Films, Distributed by GKIDS)
- The Bad Guys 2 (DreamWorks Animation)
- Zootopia 2 (Walt Disney Animation Studios)
Other Notable Films
Several other films have garnered multiple nominations. Arco secured five nominations, while The Twits and Scarlet each received three nominations. The independent category showcases:
- A Magnificent Life (Mediawan, What the Prod, and Bidibul productions)
- I’m Frankelda (Cinema Fantasma, Warner Bros. Discovery)
- Lost In Starlight (Netflix / Climax Studio)
Television Nominees
In the television category, Win or Lose leads with six nominations, followed by Asterix & Obelix: The Big Fight with five nods. Common Side Effects also stands out this year.
Special Honors
In addition to competitive categories, several juried awards will be presented at the ceremony:
- Windsor McCay Award for lifetime achievement to Christopher Miller, Phil Lord, Michaël Dudok de Wit, and Chris Sanders.
- June Foray Award to Sandy Rabins for her positive impact on the animation community.
- Ub Iwerks Award for technical achievement goes to Wacom for their contributions to animation production.
Additionally, LightBox Expo will receive a special achievement award for its role in uniting animation filmmakers with students and fans.
