Klein Explores New Career Opportunities
Jennifer Klein, the head coach of the University of Michigan women’s soccer team, has announced her resignation. She plans to pursue new career opportunities. The university will initiate a national search for her successor.
Warde Manuel, the Director of Athletics, praised Klein’s contributions. He expressed gratitude for her dedication to the university, the athletic department, and the student-athletes. “Jen is a great coach and a tremendous person,” he remarked.
Klein reflected on her eight years at Michigan. She thanked Warde Manuel and Lisa Savoury for the opportunity to lead the program. “It was truly an honor,” Klein stated. She appreciated her assistants and support staff, stating they made her time in Ann Arbor unforgettable.
Klein’s Coaching Legacy
During her tenure at U-M, Klein achieved a coaching record of 72 wins, 58 losses, and 21 draws. Overall, her career record stands at 91 wins, 76 losses, and 25 draws. Under her guidance, the Wolverines secured three NCAA Tournament appearances and claimed the Big Ten Tournament title in 2021.
