José Gaudet Replaces Guy Jodoin as Host of Le Tricheur

José Gaudet is set to take over hosting duties for the quiz show Le Tricheur starting this autumn. His appointment was announced during the cultural magazine program Sucré Givré, hosted by Jean-Philippe Dion, who also produces Le Tricheur. Gaudet replaces long-time host Guy Jodoin, who had previously disclosed that the current season would be his last.

Transition from Guy Jodoin to José Gaudet

Guy Jodoin has been a fixture on Le Tricheur since its launch in 2012. In an interview with La Presse last October, he expressed disappointment about leaving the show, indicating a strong emotional connection to it. His final episode is scheduled for mid-February, allowing him to maintain visibility on the show until spring due to the lead time in filming and airing.

José Gaudet’s Return to TVA

This marks a significant return for José Gaudet to TVA, having left the network in 2022 after co-hosting the talk show Ça finit bien la semaine for nine seasons alongside Julie Bélanger. In addition to his new role, Gaudet has been a consistent contributor to the radio show Véronique et les fantastiques on Rouge since late summer.

Le Tricheur’s Continued Popularity

Despite being on the air for 15 seasons, Le Tricheur continues to attract substantial viewership. The show frequently surpasses 700,000 viewers on weekday evenings, outperforming many prime-time series in terms of audience numbers.
