Lulu, Kristy Wark, and More to Headline Pitlochry Theatre Fundraisers

Pitlochry Festival Theatre has announced a series of fundraising events to celebrate its 75th anniversary. These events will feature prominent figures from the arts world and include a special exhibition that honors the theatre’s costume legacy.

Upcoming Fundraising Events

The fundraising initiative kicks off on Saturday, February 28. Renowned singer and actress Lulu will engage in a conversation with the theatre’s Artistic Director, Alan Cumming. Attendees can also participate in a book signing for Lulu’s autobiography, *If Only You Knew*.

On Sunday, March 1, author and fashion writer Justine Picardie will discuss her new book, *Fashioning the Crown*, in conversation with broadcaster Kirsty Wark. This book delves into British royal history through the lens of fashion, drawing upon original research from the Royal Archives.

Exhibition of Costumes

In addition to these events, the theatre will host a free exhibition showcasing 25 years of costumes from its productions. This exhibit will be displayed in the public areas of the theatre and will include:

  • Garments and accessories
  • Costume sketches
  • Fabric samples
  • Production images

The exhibition celebrates the artistry and craftsmanship of the theatre’s wardrobe department.

Fundraising Goals

The fundraising appeal aims to support various initiatives, including:

  • Creation of new live theatre productions
  • Development of new writing and creative talents
  • Engagement with schools and local communities
