Oilers Activate Key Players Tristan Jarry, Jake Walman from LTIR
The Edmonton Oilers have made significant roster changes as they activate key players Tristan Jarry and Jake Walman from Long-Term Injured Reserve (LTIR). This move comes after a series of injuries affected the team’s performance.
Tristan Jarry Returns
Goaltender Tristan Jarry was placed on LTIR on December 18 due to a lower-body injury sustained during a game against the Boston Bruins. Jarry, a two-time All-Star, was acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins shortly before his injury. In his brief tenure with the Oilers, he started three games, recording a perfect 3-0-0 record with an .887 save percentage.
Jake Walman Activation
Defenseman Jake Walman also returns to the lineup after last playing on November 20. This season, he has participated in just 17 games, accumulating three goals and seven assists, totaling ten points. Walman was acquired during the previous season’s trade deadline and contributed a goal and seven assists in 15 regular-season games after joining the Oilers.
Upcoming Games and Team Adjustments
Walman is anticipated to play against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night. In addition to these activations, the Oilers have adjusted their roster by placing forward Adam Henrique on LTIR. Henrique was initially placed on injured reserve on January 7 and will be unable to return until at least January 31 due to an injury timeline extending past the Olympic break.
Connor Ingram’s Role
With Henrique’s status updated, goalie Connor Ingram has transitioned from emergency recall status to regular recall. Ingram began the season with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors and has since participated in seven games with the Oilers, achieving a record of 4-2-1 and a .904 save percentage.
Current Goaltender Lineup
The Oilers now have three goaltenders on their active roster:
- Tristan Jarry
- Connor Ingram
- Calvin Pickard
These changes reflect the Oilers’ strategy to strengthen their lineup as they move forward in the season.
