Culture Platform “kklick” Expands Beyond Borders
kklick, a prominent cultural platform in Eastern Switzerland, has been active for over ten years. Its mission is to facilitate cultural education in schools by connecting teachers with cultural institutions. The platform simplifies the search for educational projects and fosters collaboration between educational entities and cultural organizations. Ultimately, it aims to provide children and young people with accessible cultural experiences.
Expansion of the kklick Network
Starting in 2026, kklick will broaden its reach beyond Swiss borders with the inclusion of cultural institutions from the Principality of Liechtenstein. This expansion allows institutions from Liechtenstein to advertise their offerings on kklick and enables schools in the Principality to access existing resources from Eastern Switzerland.
New Partnership with Liechtenstein
This collaboration builds on ongoing partnerships between St. Gallen canton and the Principality of Liechtenstein. It includes the introduction of the “Freifahrt Kultur” program, set to launch in the summer of 2024. This initiative allows classes from St. Gallen to travel for free to cultural institutions twice a year using public transportation.
- Schools can book these trips through the kklick platform.
- The partnership is designed to enhance educational opportunities and cultural exposure for students.
Administration and Structure
The project operates under the governance of the cantons of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, St.Gallen, and Thurgau, with oversight by Wirkpunkt GmbH. Kati Michalk and Richi Küttel lead the organization. The addition of Liechtenstein’s cultural network will be managed through the Appenzell Ausserrhoden–St.Gallen office starting in 2026.
Collaborative Benefits for Cultural Education
The integration of Liechtenstein’s cultural institutions into the kklick platform is anticipated to deliver significant advantages for cultural education in the region. With a unified approach, both Swiss and Liechtenstein schools will benefit from enhanced access to varied cultural resources.
