Apple Launches San Jose Expansion Plan with New Store Setup
Apple has initiated an expansion plan in North San Jose, solidifying its presence in the area. The company began relocating employees into the office building located at 2509 Orchard Parkway in late 2025. Additionally, preparations are underway to accommodate more team members at a nearby location, 2325 Orchard Parkway.
Expansion at Orchard Parkway
According to Kristina Raspe, Apple’s vice president of Global Real Estate and Facilities, “We’re thrilled to continue to invest in our teams in San Jose and across the Santa Clara Valley.” This investment underscores Apple’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration.
Office Space Details
- The two buildings cover nearly 500,000 square feet combined.
- 2509 Orchard Parkway has a space of 199,200 square feet.
- 2325 Orchard Parkway encompasses about 290,600 square feet.
Both locations support Apple’s robust research and development efforts, blending office and lab space. Currently, hundreds of employees are actively working at 2509 Orchard Parkway.
Strategic Real Estate Moves
Bob Staedler, principal executive at Silicon Valley Synergy, noted Apple’s strategic approach to managing its office footprint. He remarked, “The company takes a long-term view and uses its cash strategically, even during downturns.” In February, Apple plans to transfer additional teams into the 2325 Orchard Parkway office.
Investment in South Bay
Apple’s growth strategy in San Jose is part of a larger trend involving significant real estate expansions throughout the South Bay. The company’s investments in Santa Clara County exceeded $1.1 billion over the last six months of 2025. Additionally, Apple is exploring opportunities to lease multiple office buildings in Sunnyvale, primarily through subleasing arrangements.
Staedler asserts that Apple is positioning itself effectively for future growth cycles, indicating the company’s readiness to adapt and thrive in a dynamic business environment.
