A tragic incident occurred in Clinton County, Illinois, where 23-year-old Luke Kitterman lost his life while attempting to rescue his dog from a frozen lake. The incident took place on Monday, January 26, during an outing with friends in New Memphis, Kitterman’s hometown.

Witnesses reported that Kitterman’s dog, Bourbon, fell through the ice while trying to chase a bird. In a heroic act, Kitterman crawled onto the frozen surface to save his pet. Unfortunately, the ice broke beneath him, plunging him into the frigid water.
