Alabama Man Charged with Biden Assassination Plot at 2024 Debate in Atlanta
An Alabama man, Adam Benjamin Hall, is in custody for allegedly plotting to assassinate President Biden during the first presidential debate in Atlanta. The 23-year-old was arrested on a federal interstate stalking charge on Wednesday. Officials expect additional charges to follow as the investigation continues.
Details of the Assassination Plot
Hall’s alleged plan involved traveling from Alabama to Atlanta on June 27, 2024, coinciding with the debate between President Biden and former President Trump. Prosecutors reported that Hall brought a firearm to the event.
Location data indicated that his phone was located merely three blocks from the debate venue less than thirty minutes before the event was set to commence.
Manifesto and Intentions
Investigators discovered a note on Hall’s phone, which he referred to as his “manifesto.” The document purportedly discussed Palestinian journalists and called for political upheaval in the United States and Israel. An excerpt reads, “Our enemies are not in any other country but our own and Israel’s. It’s time we overthrow these bastards and threaten to pull a f*ing D-Day on Tel Aviv.”
The note concluded with the phrase “Free Palestine” accompanied by an emoji of the Palestinian flag.
Response from Authorities
Acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Donovan emphasized the importance of protecting the President. He stated, “Our highest priority is protecting the President of the United States, and every potential threat is treated with the utmost seriousness.”
Donovan also highlighted the collaboration between the U.S. Secret Service and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia. He pointed out that Hall’s arrest reflects the effectiveness of their coordinated efforts to secure national leadership.
Court Proceedings
On the day of his arrest, Hall appeared before a U.S. magistrate judge. The investigation into his alleged assassination plot remains active as authorities continue to assess the situation.
