Super Bowl Unveils Trailers for ‘Mandalorian & Grogu,’ ‘Disclosure Day’

The upcoming Super Bowl is set to showcase a variety of trailers for highly anticipated films, drawing significant attention from Hollywood.

Major Trailers to Debut at Super Bowl

Disney is preparing to unveil a trailer for “The Mandalorian & Grogu.” This marks the return of a “Star Wars” film to theaters after the release of “The Rise of Skywalker” in 2019. In addition, there is speculation that a teaser for the forthcoming “Toy Story 5” may also air, although this remains unconfirmed.

Studios Skipping the Big Game

Not all studios will participate in this year’s Super Bowl. Notably, Sony, which handles the “Spider-Man” franchise, has chosen to forgo advertising during the event. Other companies such as Netflix, Apple, and Amazon/MGM are also absent this year. Warner Bros. is expected to maintain a low profile as well and is not planning significant promotions.

Upcoming Films and Trailers

Despite some studios pulling back, other major titles will still be featured:

  • Universal: Trailers for “Disclosure Day,” “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” and “Minions 3” will be showcased.
  • Paramount: The studio will present a trailer for “Scream 7.”
  • Lionsgate: They plan to promote “Michael,” a biopic about Michael Jackson, during NBC’s pre-game coverage.

Cost of Advertising

Advertising during the Super Bowl comes at a steep price. NBC is requesting between $7 million and over $10 million for just 30 seconds of ad time. This substantial cost might deter some studios from investing in a Super Bowl spot, despite the event’s massive audience reach.

Nonetheless, the excitement surrounding these trailers highlights the ongoing interplay between cinema and major sporting events, offering a unique platform for film marketing.
