Nathalie Simard recently opened up about her experience of overprotecting her daughter, Ève, during her childhood. She shared her concerns about potential dangers, such as kidnapping, which led her to implement various safety measures.
Nathalie Simard Reflects on Overprotecting Her Daughter
In an interview on the show Sucré Givré, she disclosed that she taught Ève emergency procedures as early as two or three years old. “I was alone with her and wanted her to be knowledgeable about safety. We practiced calling 911,” said Simard.
She emphasized the extent of her concerns, admitting, “We had codes for picking her up from school that changed daily. My life felt threatened before I left home.” This daily anxiety shaped their routine and her parenting style.
Upcoming Performances
Currently, Nathalie Simard is gearing up for her role in the musical production Évangéline. This performance will be held at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier of the Place des Arts in Montreal from February 5 to 8. Following this, the show will travel to various venues:
- Grand Théâtre de Québec: March 13-15
- Amphithéâtre Cogeco, Trois-Rivières: May 29-30
- Centre Avenir, Moncton: July 24-25

Personal Life Updates
At 56 years old and now a grandmother, Simard has come to terms with her parenting past. She noted that Ève, now a mother, tends to transfer the same overprotective tendencies to her own child. Simard also confirmed her status as single, expressing contentment with her life choices.
This spring, she will host the television program Du Québec au ventre on TVA and TVA+. Additionally, she is set to appear in the series L’effet Lara, which broadcasts on TVA from Monday to Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
