Team GB’s Achievements
Despite Stoecker’s disappointment, her fellow Britons performed admirably as well. Freya Tarbit and Amelia Coltman finished seventh and ninth, respectively. Tarbit expressed pride in their overall performance, emphasizing that all three British athletes had finished in the top 10.
She stated, “This is all our first Games, and we’ve all finished in the top 10. It shows that British skeleton is in a great place right now.”
Looking Ahead
Stoecker, Tarbit, and Coltman are poised to compete in the team event alongside Weston and Marcus Wyatt. Stoecker highlighted her teammates’ impressive performances, stating, “Matt smashed it, and Marcus did phenomenally as well. So going into the team race with either of them is just going to be amazing.”
Inspiration from Competitors
Stoecker also acknowledged the inspiration she draws from Janine Flock, describing her as a supportive figure in the team. Stoecker expressed happiness for Flock’s success, noting that Flock deserved her victory.
As Team GB prepares for the upcoming team event, the athletes carry with them a sense of achievement and community, looking to build on their experiences at these Winter Olympics.
