Dave Grohl Denies Involvement in Daughter Violet’s Record Deal
Dave Grohl recently clarified that he played no role in helping his daughter, Violet, secure a record deal. In an interview with Chris Moyles on Radio X, the renowned frontman of the Foo Fighters shared his pride in Violet’s accomplishments.
Violet Grohl’s Independent Journey
Violet, who is nearing her 20th birthday, collaborated with producer Justin Raisin on her debut album. Grohl emphasized that Violet took initiative, stating, “She met the producer, and they would go to the studio every day and create songs.” According to him, he was completely unaware of her recording process, receiving updates only after the fact.
Unveiling the Record Deal
Grohl revealed that he first learned of Violet’s record deal during a casual dinner. “I had no idea,” he recalled. She casually mentioned, “I signed my record deal today,” and Grohl’s astonishment was evident. This moment highlighted her independence, as Grohl reflected, “I’m like the dad that wants to be there and know everything, and she’s just totally doing her own thing.”
The Sound of Violet’s Album
Grohl described Violet’s album as diverse, combining elements from different genres. He noted influences reminiscent of bands such as The Sundays and Cocteau Twins, alongside heavier rock sounds. “It’s beautiful,” he remarked, further adding that the speed and energy of her recording inspired him for his own upcoming work.
Upcoming Foo Fighters Album
Grohl mentioned that his own project, titled *My Favorite Toy*, is set for release on April 24. This marks the Foo Fighters’ twelfth album. Currently, the band is performing several intimate shows in the UK. They recently took the stage at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London and are scheduled for a performance at Manchester’s Ritz.
