BLACKPINK’s New Album Debuts at National Museum of Korea Event

On Thursday, BLACKPINK hosted an exclusive pre-listening event for their new EP at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul. This exciting occasion took place in a dimly lit lobby filled with fans eagerly anticipating the debut of their new album.

Exclusive Preview at National Museum of Korea

The event, co-hosted by BLACKPINK, the museum, and Spotify, welcomed around 300 selected fans. Attendees were treated to an exclusive preview of their upcoming single “Deadline,” a day before its official release. This marked a significant milestone for the quartet, as it was their first album featuring all members in four years, following “Born Pink.”

Venue and Atmosphere

Fans navigated through the museum’s “path of history,” where a striking carpet reading “BLACKPINK WILL MAKE YOU” guided them to a special seating area. The location, near the digitally restored Gwanggaeto the Great Stele, holds immense historical importance as the memorial for the 19th monarch of Goguryeo, an ancient Korean kingdom.

As the evening commenced, the sound of their past prerelease track “Jump” echoed through the museum. LED pillars illuminated the space with vibrant visuals and rhythms, creating an electrifying atmosphere. Over six sessions, fans enjoyed five new tracks, including the title song “Go” and “Fxxxboy.”

Post-Release Experience for Fans

Following the official album release on Friday at 2 p.m., the museum will offer continued access to a dedicated listening zone where all visitors can engage with the new music during regular operating hours.

BLACKPINK and Cultural Engagement

The collaboration between BLACKPINK and the National Museum extends beyond music. The group has recorded voice commentary for eight of the museum’s signature artifacts, allowing fans to experience Korea’s historical treasures narrated in the members’ own voices. The exterior of the museum will also be adorned in BLACKPINK’s iconic pink lighting, a celebration that will run until March 8.

Fan Reactions

  • Lee Hak-min, a fan from Seoul, expressed, “It felt so special hearing BLACKPINK’s new songs here.”
  • Ko Eun-seo shared her emotional experience, stating, “I almost cried because the songs were so good.”

Fans expressed feelings of pride and nostalgia as they celebrated a decade of BLACKPINK’s success. The launch event not only showcased new music but created a memorable atmosphere where fans felt connected to their love for the group.
