Dji Osmo Pocket 4 lands with stronger slo-mo, new photos boost, and built-in storage
dji osmo pocket 4 is now official, and the headline changes are easy to spot: higher frame rates, a major jump in still-photo resolution, and 107GB of built-in storage. The camera is launching in Europe and the UK, but DJI says it will not be available in the US market while authorization remains pending. The announcement follows months of leaks and confirms a focused update to DJI’s handheld stabilized vlogger camera.
What changed on dji osmo pocket 4
DJI says the new model keeps the same basic pocket-friendly format but adds upgraded capabilities. The camera now uses a new 1-inch sensor that DJI says offers 14 stops of dynamic range, alongside better low-light performance and more detail in bright and dark parts of a scene. Slow-motion footage can be captured in 4K at up to 240fps, while still photos rise from 9. 4-megapixels to 37-megapixels through what DJI calls an optimized algorithm.
The camera also adds 107GB of built-in storage, with transfers rated at up to 800MB/s, while still allowing expandable microSD storage. DJI has also added film look filters, beauty filters, and a magnetic fill light with three brightness levels and three color temperature settings. The company says the new fill light is part of a broader bundle strategy tied to the camera’s launch in other regions.
Launch details and bundle pricing
DJI is offering the dji osmo pocket 4 in three bundles outside the US. The Essential Combo is priced at £429/€479, the Standard Combo at £445/€499, and the Creator Combo at £549/€619. The higher-tier bundle adds a wide-angle lens, a mini tripod, a fill light attachment, and a wireless DJI Mic 3 microphone with clothing accessories.
The company’s US position is clear and direct: the application for authorization is still pending. DJI spokesperson Daisy Kong said the camera will not be available in the US market. That leaves buyers in Europe and the UK as the first to get access to the new model.
Controls, tracking, and creator-focused changes
Hardware changes are limited but practical. Rotating the 2-inch OLED touchscreen into landscape mode reveals two additional buttons, including one for zoom levels and another that can be customized for preset settings. A new 5D analog joystick can flip the camera to face either direction, move it at different speeds, or recenter the gimbal.
DJI also upgraded tracking with ActiveTrack 7. 0, which works even at the 4x zoom setting and can track vehicles, animals, and people. Gesture Control is new on the Pocket 4 as well, giving users another hands-free way to start or stop recording and engage tracking from a distance. The camera also adds lossless zoom options during 4K shooting and support for 10-bit D-Log video.
Why this matters now
The launch arrives after months of leaks and growing expectations around a follow-up to the Osmo Pocket 3. DJI’s message is that dji osmo pocket 4 is not a dramatic redesign, but a concentrated upgrade aimed at better footage, easier handling, and more flexible creator tools. For now, the next move will be whether US authorization changes the camera’s availability, while buyers elsewhere can begin choosing between the new bundles and features built around dji osmo pocket 4.
