Victory Onuetu joins Wisconsin Badgers roster in latest transfer move
Wisconsin has added victory onuetu to its roster for next season, giving the Badgers a 6-11 frontcourt piece after his year at Hofstra. The announcement came from Madison, Wisconsin, where the men’s basketball program said the forward will arrive in June. It is the second transfer addition for Wisconsin this spring, with the team continuing to reshape its lineup ahead of next season.
What Wisconsin is getting in Victory Onuetu
victory onuetu spent last season at Hofstra, where he appeared in all 35 games and made 17 starts. He averaged 4. 7 points and 6. 9 rebounds per game, while leading the Pride with 91 offensive rebounds and finishing second with 36 blocks. He also recorded two double-doubles and shot 56. 6% from the field.
In Hofstra’s 2026 NCAA Tournament loss to Alabama, Onuetu finished with four points and nine rebounds. Before arriving in the United States, he played for CB Prat Juventud in Spain’s Segunda FEB, where he averaged 10. 9 points and 6. 1 rebounds per game, and he also played for Monbus Obradoiro in Spain’s Primera FEB League.
Victory Onuetu and Greg Gard’s roster plan
Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard said victory onuetu brings size, athleticism and production in several areas that matter in the half court and in transition. Gard described him as a player who adds rim pressure, lob threat ability, shot blocking and strong rebounding, while also saying Onuetu fits the roster plan well.
“Having Victory coming to our program is a terrific addition to our team, ” Greg Gard, head coach of Wisconsin men’s basketball, said. “He’s an extremely talented, athletic front line player that gives us excellent rim pressure in transition, lob threats in the half court, shot blocking capability and relentless rebounding. In addition to complimenting our roster plan very well, he is an extraordinary person who Badger fans are going to love getting to know. We can’t wait until we can begin working with him when he arrives in June!”
International background and team context
victory onuetu also arrives with international experience. He helped Spain win the FIBA Under-19 World Cup Championship and the FIBA Under-18 European Championship, and he also represented Spain at the FIBA Under-20 Championship. That background gives Wisconsin another veteran front-line option as it continues building out the roster.
The program said Onuetu is the second transfer to join Wisconsin this spring, following Trey Autry’s announcement on Friday. The addition adds another experienced body to the Badgers as they prepare for next season, with Onuetu scheduled to begin working with the team when he arrives in June. For Wisconsin, victory onuetu is now part of a roster picture that is still taking shape, but the early emphasis is clear: size, rebounding and defense in the frontcourt.
