TransLink said staff were in place at as it worked through the disruption. It told riders, “Staff are in place at Stadium–Chinatown Station; the buses will be serving , , and Waterfront Stations.”

The agency also posted, “#SkyTrain Bus Bridge replacing service between Waterfront and Stadium-Chinatown Stations due to track intrusion alarm. ^tm” That routing left downtown commuters with service ending at Stadium while buses covered the stations farther west.

Granville and Waterfront

TransLink said the buses were serving Granville, Burrard, and Waterfront stations. A SkyTrain attendant also told riders, “Really sorry about the bad luck! SkyTrain will get you as far as Stadium Station at this time. A Bus Bridge has been requested to service all affected stations. Can I help in any way with trip planning? There may be buses from Stadium you could take ^sp”

The practical effect was narrow but immediate: riders headed downtown on the Expo Line had to switch to buses or adjust plans through Stadium while the track intrusion alarm remained in place. TransLink’s response kept the affected corridor moving even as regular train service between Stadium and Waterfront was paused.

By around 9:30 a.m. on April 28, 2026, TransLink said the issue had been resolved. The downtown stretch between Stadium and Waterfront returned to normal train service after the morning interruption.
