Donovan Mitchell Leads Raptors to 61-51 Halftime Edge in Game 6
The Toronto Raptors led the Cleveland Cavaliers 61-51 at halftime in Game 6 on Friday night, and donovan mitchell had a front-row view of Toronto’s push at Scotiabank Arena. Cleveland entered with a 3-2 series lead, but the Raptors’ second-quarter burst flipped the game before the break.
Scotiabank Arena Pressure
Scottie Barnes drove the shift with 14 points and 10 assists by halftime. RJ Barrett added 15 points, giving Toronto two clear ball-handlers who kept the Cavaliers from settling in after the early whistles and the back-and-forth start.
The game got chippy early when James Harden and Barrett received double technicals after getting tangled up. Cleveland led by one point at the first timeout and later built a six-point lead in the first quarter, but Toronto answered by tying the game at 32 at the end of the period.
Toronto's Second-Quarter Run
The Raptors opened the second quarter on a 13-6 run and quickly turned that first-quarter tie into a seven-point lead. From there, the margin held at 61-51 by halftime, with Toronto finding cleaner offense despite being without Brandon Ingram because of a heel injury and Immanuel Quickley because of a hamstring injury.
Those absences left Toronto short on proven scoring options, but the half still tilted toward the Raptors through Barnes’ playmaking and Barrett’s scoring. Cleveland still had the series edge entering the night, and the halftime score put the burden back on the Cavaliers to respond before Game 6 slipped away completely.
Series Edge For Cleveland
With Cleveland up 3-2 entering Game 6, the halftime deficit was the sort of stretch the Cavaliers could not afford on the road. Toronto had the more urgent side of the moment, and the first 24 minutes gave it a real chance to force the series deeper.
