Vincent Arioli gets 18 months after Bergerac car theft
Vincent Arioli received 18 months in prison after a car theft in bergerac on Friday 24 April. Police were called to a resident's home after a vehicle was stolen from the property and the gate was forced open, then officers found the car within minutes.
Bergerac police response
Municipal police in Bergerac used a stop-stick on the vehicle's front left wheel after spotting it. The driver tried to flee while putting the officers in danger, but the car stopped once the stop-stick took effect and the individual was arrested.
In custody, Arioli admitted the theft and the damage to the property. Police national de la Dordogne relayed the intervention on its Facebook page, and the account says the car was taken from a private garden after the gate was broken through.
Comparution immédiate
Arioli was judged in comparution immédiate at the beginning of the week and sentenced to eighteen months in prison. The court decision closed the case quickly after the Friday 24 April arrest, leaving the sentence as the immediate result of the stolen vehicle, the damaged gate and the attempted flight.
