Sir Alex Ferguson Linked to Bouaddi Move as United Step Up Pursuit

sir alex ferguson has been linked to Manchester United’s effort to win over Ayyoub Bouaddi, the Lille midfielder who is drawing attention from Arsenal and Bayern Munich. United are weighing the move as they look ahead to a summer in which midfield business is likely to be a priority.

United’s Bouaddi Push

Manchester United have ramped up efforts to meet Bouaddi’s entourage, and Ferguson is one of the names being considered to help tilt the teenager’s decision. Bouaddi is 18 years old, and the idea is straightforward: use a club figure with enough weight to matter in a crowded chase.

That pursuit sits inside a wider recruitment plan. United are looking at midfield before Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte’s possible exit, while the club is also expected to keep working through other summer targets once the season reaches its next stage.

Arsenal And Bayern Munich

Bouaddi is not being tracked in a vacuum. Arsenal and Bayern Munich are also said to be watching him, which makes United’s approach less about simple interest and more about finding a selling point that separates them from two established rivals.

The age factor is part of the calculation. Isaac Seelochan said, “Bouaddi would be too big of a risk at his young age.” He added, “Combine that with the fact he has no Premier League experience, and this potential deal feels extremely unlikely this summer.”

That hesitation does not erase the interest, but it does show the split inside the conversation around Bouaddi: United see a player worth chasing, while the fit still has to be judged against his age, his lack of Premier League experience, and the competition already circling him.

Summer Window Pressure

United’s transfer work is likely to sharpen after Sunday’s Old Trafford meeting with Liverpool, where victory would seal Champions League qualification. Once that is settled, the club’s focus is expected to turn more sharply to midfield, with left-back also in view because of Luke Shaw’s injury record.

Seelochan also said, “Midfield will be the priority, but with Shaw's injury record, a new left-back should be looked at as well.” He described El Hadji Malick Diouf as another possible option, saying, “Diouf could be a solid signing for United if they get him for a reasonable fee this summer.”

United are already being linked with Diouf, and claim that the club is one of the sides monitoring the West Ham left-back. For now, the Bouaddi file is the cleaner read: United want help in midfield, Ferguson’s name is part of the pitch, and Arsenal and Bayern Munich remain in the way.
