Prince William tours Oundle School ahead of George's schooling decision
Prince William and the Princess of Wales were seen touring oundle school this week ahead of Prince George's final term at Lambrook School. The visit has added to speculation that the Northamptonshire boarding school could be George's secondary school, with his move expected this summer when he turns 13.
Oundle School and George
Oundle School was founded in 1556 and has been governed by a royal charter since 1930. Its alumni include the evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins and Charles Wintour, the former editor-in-chief of the Evening Standard and father of Anna Wintour.
George is currently at Lambrook School with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Lambrook educates pupils until the age of 13, and George will reach that age this summer.
March at Marlborough College
William and Catherine were also seen with George on a tour of Marlborough College in March. A source told The Sun, “go and sit in the library, or anywhere else, stressing they absolutely could not be outside” during that visit, and added, “This piqued the teenagers' curiosity and they crept down one of the library's turrets to get a better look at what was going on below,”.
People had widely assumed George would attend Eton College or Marlborough College. Oundle sits about 100 miles from Windsor, and a source told The Sun, “William and Kate’s visit was terribly exciting,” while another said, “They are considering other schools, but people in Oundle have their fingers crossed that George will be starting here in September.”
September at Oundle
That leaves George's next school choice open as his time at Lambrook runs down. A source said, “The town would be proud as punch if he attends school here.”
