Liberal Democrats Win 29 Seats in Wokingham Election Results
The Liberal Democrats have won the wokingham election results at Wokingham Borough Council, taking 29 seats and clearing the 28 needed for a majority. Mohima Bose, the party’s councillor for Barkham and Arborfield, said she felt "fantastic" about the victory. She also said, "I just want to tell everyone of you that hopefully, I'll live up to your expectation," as the result gave her party control of the council.

The 29-seat total puts the Liberal Democrats one seat above the majority mark at Wokingham Borough Council. For residents, that means the party now has control of the council’s decisions after the local elections in 2026.
Bose set out three priorities after the result: fly tipping, potholes and SEND schools. Those are the issues she named while speaking after the Liberal Democrats won the majority, giving a direct view of the problems her party says it will move on first.

Bose represents the Liberal Democrats for Barkham and Arborfield. Her remarks came as local elections were taking place across England, with more than 5,000 seats contested across 136 local authorities and six mayoral races.
Seventeen elections were also taking place across Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, with results from all counts expected by Saturday. In Wokingham, the immediate change is clearer than the wider picture: the Liberal Democrats now hold the numbers they need to run the borough council.
