Kristoffer Reitan Wins $3.6 Million at Truist Championship Prize Money
Kristoffer Reitan took home the biggest share of the truist championship prize money, winning the 2026 event at Quail Hollow Club and earning $3.6 million. He finished at 15 under and beat the field by two shots.
The win mattered because Reitan was not in the Truist Championship field a week earlier, yet he turned Sunday at Quail Hollow into the final step of a run that ended with the title. The tournament carried a $20 million purse, and the payout list ran through 72nd place.
Reitan and Alex Fitzpatrick
Reitan and Alex Fitzpatrick were in the final grouping on Sunday, with Fitzpatrick having led at Quail Hollow through 54 holes. That setup made the closing round decisive, and Reitan came out of it with the lowest total that counted most.
The margin stayed at two shots, which separated a champion’s finish from the rest of the leaderboard. Alex Fitzpatrick’s position after 54 holes showed how quickly the lead changed hands once the final round started.
The $20 million purse
The payout breakdown put the winner at $3.6 million, with second place set at $2.18 million and third at $1.38 million. Those figures came from the same $20 million purse that covered all 72 listed finishers.
That spread gave the top of the board a clear premium, but it also left a long tail of payouts for players who finished far back from the winner. The list reached down to 72nd place, so every spot in the field carried a number attached to it.
Three weeks to Sunday
The turnaround behind Fitzpatrick’s path was just as sharp. Three weeks ago, he entered the Zurich Classic with his brother Matt; two weeks ago, he was planning a travel day from Louisiana to Turkey for back-to-back events.
Reitan’s route was even more abrupt. A week ago, he was the last man in the field at the Cadillac Championship and was not in the Truist Championship field, then he arrived at Quail Hollow and left with the title and the biggest check of the week.
