Antigoni stages JALLA with giant table in Vienna rehearsal

antigoni put a giant table at the center of Cyprus’s Eurovision 2026 rehearsal in Vienna on Day 4. The setup drove the entire performance of “JALLA,” with the table doubling as a runway before she moved onto the main stage extension.

Antigoni Buxton, 30, led the rehearsal as Cyprus continued its Eurovision 2026 preparations in Vienna. She was the first country representative to rehearse on Day 4, and the staging also brought fire effects and pyrotechnics into the performance as it built.

Vienna puts table first

The table was not a prop on the side of the stage; it became the centerpiece. Antigoni and her dancers moved across it, using the surface as part of the choreography, while the backdrop featured large architectural structures lit in blue.

That kind of staging gives Cyprus a very specific visual identity for “JALLA.” Eurovision performances compete on instant recognition, and this one is built around a single large object instead of a crowded set or a costume-led reveal. The short, white, embellished outfit kept the focus on movement and the table rather than on excess detail.

JALLA written by seven

“JALLA” was written by Antigoni, Charalambous Kallona, Connor Mullally-Knight, Demetris Nikolaou, Claydee, Paris Kalpos and Trey Qua. With seven credited writers, the song arrives as a coordinated production rather than a one-person showcase, which fits a rehearsal that already relies heavily on staging and timing.

Antigoni first drew attention as a contestant on Love Island in 2022, but this is a different kind of platform. Eurovision gives Cyprus a much larger international audience, and the country has been in the contest 40 times since its debut in 1981.

Cyprus after 44 points

Cyprus has reached the Grand Final 33 times, yet the 2025 result still hangs over this campaign. CyBC’s internal selection of Theo Evan for Basel with “Shh” ended in 11th place in the first semi-final with 44 points, a finish that leaves little room for another weak live run.

That is why the Vienna rehearsal matters beyond one striking prop. If Cyprus wants “JALLA” to travel farther than 2025 did, the staging has to land cleanly from the first beat, and this Day 4 run showed a production trying to do exactly that with one oversized object, a clear visual lane, and a finish built for the main stage extension.
