Texas theft warrant

The Melissa Police Department in Collin County, Texas said a couple filed a report in January after they said they commissioned Mason in March 2025 to frame a piece of sports memorabilia. Melissa police said he was paid $9,822.86 for the work, and investigators said he later sent a photograph of the completed framing in April 2025.

Investigators said Mason promised to deliver the finished product and then stopped communicating with the couple for several months. The memorabilia and its authentication documents were valued at around $40,000, according to investigators.

Bricktown arrest

Police said Mason was not immediately booked into jail because of a medical issue. OCPD said he was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being returned to the jail. According to the Oklahoma County Detention Center, Mason is being held on flight to avoid.

The arrest connects back to a case that began with a private commission and a missing delivery, not a public event. Mason graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2000, was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics, played for the Milwaukee Bucks, the New Orleans Hornets, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Sacramento Kings, and later returned to Oklahoma City, where he operates an arts studio in Midtown.
