Parti Libéral Du Québec Falls to 28% as CAQ Reaches 19%

The parti libéral du québec fell to 28% in a Pallas Data-Québec125-L’actualité poll conducted from May 7 to 9, while the CAQ climbed to 19%. Charles Milliard’s party dropped four points from the April survey, and the change put the Parti québécois ahead of the PLQ in voting intentions.

Charles Milliard and the PLQ

Milliard, chef du Parti libéral du Québec, saw his party hold 29% in one comparison before the latest drop, but the new survey measured it at 28%. The PLQ’s support also fell from 22% to 13% outside the major centres, a sharper decline than the overall result.

In Greater Montreal, the PLQ remained in first place. That contrast matters because the regions outside the major centres gave the Parti québécois 34%, while the CAQ rose there from 15% in April to 22% in May.

Christine Fréchette and the CAQ

The CAQ’s 19% was its best result in Pallas since winter 2025. It gained five points from the April survey, shrinking the gap with the PLQ from 18 points to 9 points and cutting the distance from the PQ to 10 points in the latest poll.

The poll also showed the Parti conservateur du Québec stable at 14% and Québec solidaire at 8%. Among francophone voters, the Parti québécois led with 35% support, the CAQ trailed it by 13 points, and the PLQ stood at 20%.

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon’s party led among francophone voters, a group that decides most seats, while the Quebec City region put the Parti québécois at 30% and the PCQ at 27%. For the PLQ, the immediate pressure is outside Montreal, where the poll measured a steep loss of ground as the main parties moved into a tighter range.
