Brodie Croft Agrees Three-Year Warrington Wolves Deal
brodie croft will be a Warrington Wolves player next season after agreeing to a three-year contract with the club. He is set to replace George Williams at the Halliwell Jones, while Leeds Rhinos prepare for the sixth departure from their squad at the end of the season.
Brodie Croft and George Williams
Warrington made Croft their number one halfback target heading into 2027, and the move gives them the player they wanted as Williams heads back to the NRL to play for the Dolphins. Croft had also seen his hopes of returning to the NRL with St George Illawarra Dragons end when the Dragons signed Luke Metcalf.
The deal ends a long run of uncertainty around his future and fixes the halfback picture for Warrington next season. Croft arrives with a strong record in Super League, including the 2022 season when he was crowned the competition's best player with Salford Red Devils.
Leeds Rhinos' transfer response
Leeds had already tabled a deal to re-sign him and have been bracing for his exit for months. They are now accelerating on transfer targets and are confident of securing a replacement, with halfback and prop their priorities.
That rebuild sits on top of a wider reshaping of the squad. Croft will become the sixth player to depart Leeds at the end of the season, alongside Mikolaj Oledzki, Harry Newman and James McDonnell heading to Perth Bears, plus Cameron Smith and Ned McCormack moving to Wakefield Trinity.
Leeds' cap space
Leeds' response is not just about one signing. The club has significant flexibility on the salary cap, space for at least two major signings, and is invested in George Brown, with confidence that he will agree a new contract soon.
Croft's own numbers explain why both clubs moved hard on the deal. He joined Leeds in 2024 for a six-figure fee, has played 65 games in the NRL for Melbourne Storm and Brisbane Broncos, and has scored 40 tries in 109 appearances for Salford and Leeds, including 13 tries in 10 outings this season.
