Health Canada Orders Secura Air Fryer Recall Canada for 680 Units
Health Canada issued a secura air fryer recall canada on Friday for certain Secura models sold across the country after a wire connection was found to overheat and pose fire and burn hazards. The recall covers 680 units sold in Canada between May 2019 and October 2020, and affected owners are being told to stop using them immediately.
Secura Inc. said the recall is “a precautionary measure.” Canadians who have one of the affected air fryers can choose a free replacement or an Amazon gift card code, but they must contact the company and submit photos of the unit with the power cord cut off, along with the product date code.
Secura SAF-53 Labels
The recall applies to Secura air fryers with model number SAF-53 (TXG-DS16) and date codes 1903 and 1904. Those identifiers are printed on silver labels at the bottom of each unit, along with the model information. The air fryers measure about 30 cm high, 28 cm deep and 30 cm wide.
Health Canada said the recalled units were sold nationwide, while about 6,400 affected units were sold in the U.S. Secura Inc. said on May 16 that it had not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or the U.S. involving the affected product.
Secura Inc. Recall Steps
Secura Inc. described the recalled product as “posing fire and burn hazards.” The company said the air fryers were manufactured by Tianxi Holding Group Co., Ltd. in China and imported by Secura Inc.
For Canadians with the affected models, the practical step is direct: stop using the air fryer, locate the silver label on the bottom, and use the company’s recall process to request either the replacement product or the Amazon gift card credit. The cut cord and product date code are part of what Secura requires before it issues the remedy.
