Prince William Describes Lambrook School Run With Jam Sandwiches
Prince William said the lambrook school morning run can turn messy, telling Heart Breakfast listeners on Friday, 22 May that jam sandwiches often go in the car and Louis leaves fingerprints throughout it. He made the comments while co-hosting a special edition of the show with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden.

Holden asked whether he would usually be doing the school run at that time and whether it was as chaotic as most mornings. William replied, “It can be,” and said the routine depends on what the children have on. He described guitar and music lessons, with the guitar needing to fit in the car alongside school bags and other plans.
He also said, “There’s a lot of jam sandwiches taken in the car usually,” before adding, “Louis will leave jam fingerprints throughout the car, which is really helpful.” The detail offered a rare on-air look at the practical side of the routine for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, with the youngest child leaving a visible trail behind the snack.
George, Charlotte and Louis
William said Charlotte and Louis would be listening live that morning, and he told them, “Charlotte and Louis, if you’re listening make sure you’re on time please. Make sure you’re not fighting over who’s listening to what this morning.” He said George would already have been at school because he was boarding the night before.
He also said Charlotte, and Louis as well, are drawn to Taylor Swift, with Charlotte particularly “obsessed by Taylor Swift.” William said he and his family went to the Eras tour, saw Swift at Wembley in a box, and could feel the floors shaking when people were dancing.
Isles of Scilly Hospital
The radio appearance also supported William’s work with the Isles of Scilly Hospital. For families listening, the clearest takeaway was not the celebrity cameo but the ordinary mechanics he described: lesson bags, overnight boarding, and a car that has to survive jam-covered mornings.
