Sian Welby joins Toy Story 5 with UK cameo voice role
Disney has added sian welby to Toy Story 5’s UK voice cast, giving the radio, broadcast and TV personality the role of Inflatable Flamingo in the franchise’s fifth instalment. Jordan North will voice Garden Gnome, while the film is set to reach cinemas on June 19th 2026.
Toy Story 5 cast expands
The announcement lands with one month left before the release window Disney and Pixar have set for the film, which returns Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the rest of the gang to cinemas. Andrew Stanton is directing, Kenna Harris is co-directing, and Lindsey Collins is producing, with Stanton and Harris writing and Randy Newman returning to score his fifth Toy Story feature.
Sian Welby said that the characters and world of Toy Story have formed such an iconic part of so many people’s childhoods, including mine, so being part of the journey has been a dream come true!” Jordan North called the assignment a “pinch-me moment,” adding, “I grew up loving these films, so getting to join the gang is pretty surreal and special.”
UK voices for Disney films
Disney has long used local celebrities for regional versions of its animated releases, and these UK-only cameo roles follow the same pattern. The move gives the studio two familiar British voices without changing the film’s core cast, while also keeping the release tailored to local audiences rather than treating every market the same.
The film’s “Toy meets Tech” storyline adds Lilypad, a brand-new tablet device voiced by Greta Lee, to a series built on toys finding new footing in changing times. That setup makes the cameo choices more than window dressing: the UK version arrives with recognisable voices, a fresh character and a June 19th 2026 cinema date already fixed in place.
