Vasseur Hospitalized F1 News: Ferrari Says Fred Vasseur Will Miss Monaco Qualifying
vasseur hospitalized f1 news hit Saturday morning as Ferrari said Fred Vasseur will not be present at the circuit for Monaco Grand Prix Qualifying after medical checks and observation at a local medical facility. The team principal will miss one of the weekend’s most important sessions while Ferrari gave no further medical detail.
Ferrari and Monaco Qualifying
Ferrari said Vasseur will remain under observation at a local medical facility and added, “No further medical information will be provided.” The team also said, “We wish Fred a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back at the track soon.”
The absence comes after Vasseur had already described how sharp the Monaco weekend remains. “It’s a very long way in Monaco from Friday, first to the Quali, then to the race,” he said on Friday evening, pointing to the way the circuit changes from one session to the next.
Leclerc and Hamilton in Practice
Ferrari still opened the Monaco Grand Prix race weekend strongly. Charles Leclerc headed Lewis Hamilton in first practice, and Hamilton turned the tables on Leclerc in the second session.
Vasseur said the hardest part is reading the circuit before it changes. “The most difficult [thing] is that you have to anticipate the evolution of the track, the evolution of the grip, and you have to be always one session ahead,” he said. He added, “This is a real challenge for the team and for the drivers. It means that it’s still a long way, and we’ll see tomorrow [Saturday] evening about the real pace.”
Ferrari Faces Saturday Without Vasseur
Ferrari goes into Monaco Grand Prix Qualifying without its team principal present at the circuit, and the team will have to manage the session around the same drivers who split the practice pace. With no further medical information due, the focus now shifts to how Ferrari handles qualifying at Monaco without Vasseur on site.
