Thijs Boogaard earned his first ATP main-draw win on June 10, 2026, beating Wu Yibing 6:3, 2:6, 6:4 at the Libéma Open in ’s-Hertogenbosch. The 17-year-old Dutch wildcard moved into the second round and set up a meeting with Daniil Medvedev.

Boogaard finished the match in a little less than two hours on grass. He broke Wu at 4:4 in the third set, then served out the match after the decisive break.
The result came after a swingy first-round match. Boogaard took the opening set 6:3, dropped the second 2:6, and then held off the third-set push to close it out 6:4.

The win carried more than one immediate change. Boogaard started the week at ATP career ranking No. 779 and rose to No. 632 in the live ranking, a jump of 147 places.
He was 17 years and 11 months old when he won, making him the second-youngest match winner in the tournament’s history in ’s-Hertogenbosch. That sits alongside the fact that he entered the main draw as a wildcard, and it turns a single result into a clear step up in level.
Medvedev awaits
Wu entered the match ranked No. 101 in the world, which made Boogaard’s comeback after the rain interruption near the end of the second set harder to miss. The next round brings a sharper test: Medvedev, the third seed, on June 11, 2026.
For Boogaard, the win already changes his week. He leaves the first round with his first ATP match victory, a higher live ranking, and a second-round chance against one of the tournament’s top seeds.
