Cirstea-Răducanu postponed to no earlier than 14:30 at Queen’s
cirstea’s Queen’s round-of-16 match against Emma Răducanu was postponed because of rain and moved to no earlier than 14:30 on Friday, 12 June 2026. The rescheduling pushed the meeting back a day after the Court 2 slot on Andy Murray Arena slipped behind schedule.
Andy Murray Arena delays
The match was originally due on Thursday, 11 June 2026 and was set as the second match on Andy Murray Arena. Rain interrupted the day’s flow before Cîrstea and Răducanu could take the court, and Elena Rybakina’s three-set win over Tatjana Maria came first instead.
Rybakina beat Maria 6-7, 7-5, 6-0 after their match started at 13:00 Romanian time. The first two sets lasted almost two hours, which left the Cîrstea-Răducanu match waiting behind a long hold on the schedule.
Cîrstea and Răducanu
Cîrstea, 36 and ranked 18th in the WTA rankings, reached the round of 16 after a 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 win over Maddison Inglis. Răducanu, 23 and ranked 42nd, advanced with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Anna Blinkova.
The pair had already met earlier in 2026, when Cîrstea beat Răducanu 6-0, 6-2 in the Transylvania Open final. That result gives Friday’s Queen’s meeting a clear edge before the first ball is struck, even after the rain forced the schedule to move around them.
Friday at 14:30
The new slot means the winner will not take the court before 14:30, with the Queen’s draw already compressed by weather. Harriet Dart and Kamilla Rakhimova sit in the quarterfinal path for the winner, but first the delay has to clear and the match has to start.
