Eddie Marsan Leads No Ordinary Heist to Sky Cinema and NOW

Eddie Marsan fronts no ordinary heist as the film lands on Sky Cinema and NOW in the UK months after its March cinema release. For viewers who missed it in theaters, the move puts Colin McIvor’s bank-job thriller into subscription streaming without waiting for another window.

Set against the 2004 Northern Bank robbery in Belfast, the film follows self-important manager Richard and lazy security guard Barry as they steal millions from the bank where they both work. A dangerous gang holds their loved ones hostage, and the cast pairs Marsan with Éanna Hardwicke at the center of the robbery.

Sky Cinema and NOW pricing

Sky Cinema costs £10 a month on top of an existing TV package, while the Cinema membership with NOW is £9.99 per month. That gives UK viewers two subscription routes to the same title, which is the practical change here: the film has moved from cinemas to homes, and the choice is whether to pay through Sky or use NOW’s cinema tier.

The release also lands after a mixed critical run. Joe called it a “tense thriller” that “puts a unique twist on a classic sub-genre,” while Film Ireland described it as a “grounded and atypical take on the heist genre that rewards its audience not with popcorn thrills, but a very genuine human story.”

Colin McIvor and the reviews

was much harsher, writing: “But instead this feels underpowered and apologetic, clumsily assembled and blandly directed by Colin McIvor.” That split matters because streaming is often where films with uneven theatrical traction get a second life, and this one arrives with praise for its lead performances but a clear divide over the storytelling.

Film Threat singled out Eddie Marsan and Éanna Hardwicke for their “incredible performances,” which leaves the casting as the film’s clearest draw even as the directing drew criticism. If you skipped the March run, the streaming launch now gives you the cheapest direct path to judge whether the performances carry the heist setup better than the reviews suggest.
