Moutet Tennis Suspended After Split Sets at Queen's Club

Corentin Moutet's moutet tennis match against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard was suspended at Queen's Club after they split the first two sets. Mpetshi Perricard led 7-6, Moutet answered 6-4, and play stopped before the third set could finish.

Queen's Club Ends in Bad Light

The first-round all-French match had already swung once before the light went. Mpetshi Perricard took the opener in a tiebreak, then Moutet forced the issue in the second set with the only break of serve in game 10.

Moutet even paused for a toilet break before the third set began, then the match was halted because of bad light. The result will wait until the next day, leaving one of the day's cleanest scorelines unfinished at Queen's Club.

Pinnington Jones and Shapovalov

Jack Pinnington Jones also pushed Denis Shapovalov deep in the first round before losing. The British player took the second set 6-4 after dropping the first, but Shapovalov closed it out 6-7 in a tiebreak in the third set.

Tommy Paul, the 2024 champion, beat Zachary Svajda, while Harry Wendelken lost to Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets. Those results left Moutet's suspended match as the one that carried over into the next day.
