Tycen Proper among 5 held in alleged White House UFC plot
Federal authorities say they disrupted an alleged terror plot targeting the UFC Freedom 250 fight at the White House, and tycen proper is among five people now in custody. Court documents identify Proper as 19 and from Knox County in central Ohio.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the agency became aware of the alleged plot on June 10. Federal investigators say the case grew from Signal chats that involved 23 people and discussed pre-operational plans.
Knox County and the FBI
Court documents say Proper lives with his parents in Knox County. Family members became concerned after he allegedly purchased firearms, body armor, ammunition and tactical gear, according to the complaint.
Those concerns led to a call to local police, and an FBI investigation followed. Agents then allegedly uncovered online communications that discussed reconnaissance missions, weapons, drones and plans for violence in Washington, D.C.
Signal chats and planning
The federal filing says Proper admitted participating in planning discussions and was identified as a leader within the group. That detail places him inside the planning phase described by investigators, rather than only in the broader chat network.
The case also ties the alleged plotting to a specific target: the UFC Freedom 250 fight at the White House. Five people are now in custody as the federal charges move forward.
Federal charges against Proper
Proper now faces federal charges including conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States and attempted murder of a federal officer or employee. The charges raise the stakes of the case beyond the online conversations investigators say they found.
The investigation’s next step is the court process tied to those charges, with Proper’s age, home county and alleged role now part of the public record.
