A person fell from an upper level during Goose MSG on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. The show was sold out, and the incident came during the band’s second night in a row at the venue.
Madison Square Garden sections 101 to 103
Witnesses said the fall appeared to come from the upper 200 or 300 level down to level 100. One said, “Someone fell. They took him away on a stretcher. They’re not letting us back in our section. They’re going in with mops and re-seating us. I’m section 102,” while another in 306 said, “I’m in 306, there was blood everywhere. You don’t wanna go back,” and a third added, “In section 101, the thud was incredibly loud.”
Concertgoers in sections 101, 102, and 103 said they were shaken hard, and one said, “I thought it was a balloon popping. that’s how loud it was,” while another said, “Was 8 seats away. Heard felt and saw it.” The scene was severe enough that multiple witnesses described medics taking the person away on a stretcher.
Goose and the emergency response
Goose said there had been a tragic medical emergency during the sold-out show, then posted, “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that happened at tonight's show.” The band added, “We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected,” and thanked “the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”
The band reportedly played a second set after a lengthy break, a decision that left the concert moving forward even as the crowd in the lower sections was dealing with what one witness called “Not ok. Wheeled off and bloodbath,” and others described a loud thud and a fast medical response.
The hard question now is not about the music; it is what happened to the person after medics took them away on a stretcher. For anyone in those lower sections, that is the fact that still matters most.
