Jordan Peterson Announces Weekly Archived Lectures Beginning Sunday

Jordan Peterson said on Sunday that he cannot yet return to podcasting or public lecturing and will instead release one archived lecture each week from his tour archive, beginning that Sunday. The 64-year-old Canadian psychologist and author said the plan lets him keep working while he remains unable to resume live appearances.

“I'm pleased to let you know that we're going to release a lecture a week from my extensive tour archive, beginning this Sunday and then repeating every Sunday after that,” he said in a social media message posted Sunday. He added, “My health is such at the moment that I can't really return to podcasting or public lecturing.”

Peterson said the lectures were recorded with the express intention of preparing them for release, and that he and the people involved had determined that this was the right time to use them. He also said the archived talks would let him do something “interesting and useful” while he is “otherwise incapacitated.”

The weekly format turns his archive into the main way he will reach listeners for now. For people who followed his earlier lecture-focused work, he said the new releases should be especially appealing because they return to that style.

Mikhaila Fuller and illness

Mikhaila Fuller said Peterson had experienced a recurrence of akathisia triggered by an old neurological injury. She also said he had dealt with pneumonia and sepsis during the ordeal. Those details explain why the new release plan sits alongside a continuing break from live podcasting and lecturing rather than a full return.

Peterson has built an international profile through university lectures and writings, including 12 Rules for Life and Beyond Order. His podcast has attracted millions of listeners, but the new Sunday schedule shows that his audience will be hearing pre-recorded material while his health keeps him off the stage.

Peterson said the weekly releases would continue every Sunday after the first one, giving his audience a set cadence even as his live work remains on hold.
