Amy Schumer shared a July 4th holiday photo on Instagram showing her in a blue one-piece swimsuit, part of a Sunday post that also included blue shorts and a matching baseball cap. The Amy Schumer swimwear photo came after she had discussed losing 50 pounds for health reasons.

Schumer wrote “Epic Forth” in her Instagram Story and said the group included 25 friends who had known each other for 35 years with their families. She also credited Mother and Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman in the post.

Last December, Schumer said she lost 50 pounds to deal with Cushing syndrome, which she said she was diagnosed with in 2024. She said she had tried Wegovy three years earlier and later said she was taking semaglutide, laying out a weight-loss path that changed over time rather than in one step.

In an Instagram video last March, she said, “I couldn’t handle it,” and “I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula. Whatever.” In May, she said she underwent a botched colonoscopy that affected her libido.

Gene, 7

The holiday post also sat beside a harder personal stretch. In December, Schumer said she and Chris Fischer were splitting up after almost eight years of marriage, and in January she filed for divorce from him. They share a son named Gene, who is 7.

For now, the public record is Schumer’s own: a holiday post, a 50-pound weight-loss disclosure, and a health story that has moved from medication attempts to a broader medical explanation. The Instagram images show the result she chose to share on Sunday; her earlier comments explain why it drew attention.
