Astera Labs Gains 3.03% as Alab Stock Eyes Earnings

ALAB stock rose 3.03% to $320.68 on Monday as Astera Labs moved toward its second-quarter report after Tuesday’s close. The shares were trading ahead of the print, and the setup left investors waiting on whether the company could match expectations already built into the move.

Jitendra Mohan on platform adoption

Jitendra Mohan said initial shipments of the Scorpio X-Series 320-lane AI scale-up fabric switch were part of the growth story. He also pointed to expanding market share across the broader portfolio of PCIe switches and Smart Cable Modules, which gives the coming earnings release more than one operating line to test.

$360.72 million in second-quarter revenue and 69 cents per share in adjusted earnings were the Wall Street targets. Astera Labs had previously guided for adjusted earnings per share of approximately 68 to 70 cents and adjusted gross margin of approximately 73%, so the setup was already clustered around its own range rather than a wide gap between company and Street.

ALAB below 20-day and 50-day SMAs

3.4% below its 20-day SMA and 10.4% below its 50-day SMA, ALAB was weaker on the short side even after Monday’s gain. The stock still sat 22.1% above its 100-day SMA and 53.1% above its 200-day SMA, while the 50-day SMA remained above the 200-day SMA after the May golden cross.

47.82 on RSI leaves the name in a neutral band rather than an overextended one, which fits a stock that is still trading inside a longer-term uptrend but not in a straight line. The first quarter already set a high bar with record revenue of $308.4 million, 14% sequential growth, 93% growth from a year earlier, 61 cents per share in adjusted earnings, a 36.2% adjusted operating margin, and a 76.4% adjusted gross margin.

Whether Astera Labs meets or beats the second-quarter revenue and earnings expectations after Tuesday’s close is the number that will decide whether Monday’s 3.03% advance was a simple pre-earnings position or the start of a larger rerating. For shareholders, the immediate read-through is narrow: the stock has already priced in a solid report, and the next move depends on how closely the actual figures line up with the 68 to 70 cents guide and the $360.72 million consensus.
