Downdetector logged over 14,000 people facing problems with the Discord app at the time of writing. On Downdetector, 90% of the reports were tied to voice calls, which points to a narrow failure inside one part of the app rather than a broad outage across every function.
Voice Calls, Not Everything Else
Some users said the issue had already cleared for them. Others were still seeing problems. A separate group said Discord was back up but streaming still failed, which is the kind of partial recovery that leaves users guessing whether to wait, restart, or switch connections.
Discord’s “Waiting for Voice Server” or “Awaiting Endpoint” error usually appears when a server-side outage, a temporary network glitch, or a blocked regional connection gets in the way. If Discord’s side is at fault, quick fixes may not help much, though restarting Discord completely, changing the Voice Region, switching the network, and flushing the DNS are the steps users can still try.
Houston and New York Spikes
Downdetector showed the highest spike in issues from Discord users in Houston and New York. That pattern suggests the reports were concentrated enough to stand out in specific places, even as the broader complaint count kept climbing.
The unresolved piece is service restoration. Discord did not provide a timeline for when voice calls would be back up, so affected users are left watching for the app to recover on its own or for the voice issue to clear after another status update.
