Peter Johnson Sifts Kia Ev9 Sales And Deals to $16,041 Off

Kia EV9 sales and deals turned sharper this month as Kia put $10,000 in nationwide customer cash on the 2026 EV9 while some dealers pushed the discount even further. Buyers of the three-row EV9 now face a pricing spread that can cut the SUV into a far lower bracket at the point of sale.

Peter Johnson said he first spotted a dealer offer through CarBuzz and then tracked the larger markdowns across Kia EV9 sales and deals. At Shottenkirk Kia of Fort Bend, the EV9 Light Short Range was listed with $16,041 off, while Liberty Auto Plaza in Illinois showed $15,000 off the Light Short Range and the Light Long Range.

Shottenkirk Kia of Fort Bend Pricing

$16,041 off at Shottenkirk Kia of Fort Bend put the EV9 Light Short Range at a starting price of $56,735 before the dealer cut. That leaves the SUV far below its $54,900 starting price once the nationwide cash offer is layered in, and it shows how dealer pricing can move faster than the manufacturer incentive alone.

$42,858 was the number shown at Liberty Auto Plaza in Illinois for the EV9 Light Short Range, including a $378 documentation fee. The same store listed the EV9 Light Long Range at $45,163 with $15,000 off, while the Long Range carries up to 305 miles of driving range versus 230 miles for the Short Range.

EV9 Sales Up 12%

10,500 EV9s sold in the US through the first eight months of 2026, and that total was up 12% from the same period last year. Over the same stretch, Kia sold more than 98,000 Tellurides, a gap that shows the EV9 is still smaller inside the lineup even as it is gaining ground.

$5,000 in APR Bonus Cash sits alongside 0% APR financing for 60 months on the 2026 EV9, adding another layer to the deal stack. The math matters for buyers because the advertised cash and financing terms can change the monthly payment as much as the sticker-price cut changes the headline number.

EV9 Versus Ford And Chevy

Several electric models, including the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Chevy Equinox EV, are down this year after the $7,500 EV tax credit expired last September, but Kia's EV9 has moved the other way. That makes the EV9 an unusual case: a larger electric SUV that is still gaining volume while rivals are losing support from the old federal incentive.

$29,890 is the starting price of the EV3, which gives Kia another price point beneath the EV9 for shoppers comparing electric SUVs. For buyers focused on the EV9, the immediate decision is whether to take the nationwide cash now or hold out for a dealer markdown that may be larger but is tied to a specific store.

How long Kia and its dealers keep the $10,000 customer cash and the bigger dealer discounts on the EV9 is the open question hanging over the current pricing. Right now, the market is already showing that the manufacturer offer is only the floor, not the ceiling.
