Apple has opened the iPhone settlement claims process for a $250 million agreement tied to delays in Siri and AI features. Eligible U.S. buyers of the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 can now file for cash payments.
The base payment is $25 per device for valid claims. That amount can rise or fall, with a ceiling of $95 per device, depending on how many claims are approved.
Apple and the $250 million pool
The settlement covers U.S. residents who bought an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 model between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. Claimants must say they expected certain Siri Apple Intelligence features when they bought the device, but did not get them.
That expectation is the core of the case. Buyers are not being paid simply because they own the phone. They have to tie the claim to the feature delay and to the specific purchase window.
iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 claims
The money is not automatic. A claimant has to be the original purchaser, not someone who bought the device secondhand. Businesses can also submit claims for devices they bought. Claims that are incomplete, false, or late will be rejected.
For owners trying to judge whether filing is worth the effort, the math is simple: the current base payout is $25 per device, but the final amount depends on how many valid claims come in before the pool is divided.
Siri AI delay dispute
The case arose from allegations that Apple advertised AI capabilities before they were fully integrated into new devices. The complaint said Apple Intelligence features arrived in 2024, but the integration of ChatGPT with Siri and an emoji tool fell short of expectations.
Apple said it resolved the matter to stay focused on doing what it does best, delivering the most innovative products and services to its users. The settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing or liability, which leaves the larger fight over the marketing claims behind the cash-claim process.
Dec. 21, 2026 deadline
Eligible customers must submit a valid claim form by Dec. 21, 2026. Anyone covered by the settlement who waits past that date loses the chance to collect from the pool, so the practical next step is to check purchase records and file before the deadline.
