Nicole Taylor of Taylor Red has died at 35. Nika and Natalie said the news in a YouTube video on November 2, drawing a line under a cancer battle their family had been describing in public.
Her sisters said Taylor Red’s oldest sister had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 and was told the disease was stage three and very aggressive. They said she lived for a year after that prognosis, which gives the announcement a sharper edge: this was not a sudden loss, but the end of a long fight.
Nika and Natalie on YouTube
“This isn’t a video we ever thought we’d be making. We thought she’d be here sharing her story of earthly healing. Instead, we’re sharing her story of heavenly healing.” Nika and Natalie used that language to frame the announcement, and they paired it with a direct portrait of Nicole as the center of the trio.
“Nicole, the oldest of us three sisters, will be greatly missed. She was our leader and our best friend. We are heartbroken, but we know she is in Heaven and will see her again.” For Taylor Red, that leaves the group with the loss of its oldest member and one of its most visible voices.
Breast cancer at stage four
The sisters also said Nicole initially had no evidence of disease, then the cancer returned and became stage four after nine months. That complication changes the timeline from remission to relapse, and it explains why the family’s announcement carried both grief and a sense of exhaustion.
Nicole was 35, older than Natalie by a minute and older than Nika by two minutes. She was also the first to lose her tooth and the first to give her life to Christ, details her sisters used to sketch the private life behind the public name.
Taylor Red’s missing voice
Taylor Red comes from Hurley, Mississippi, and the trio is known for country music. Nicole also co-hosted a radio show with Taste of Country, so the loss reaches beyond one family statement and into the wider space where the group had built an audience.
She learned the drums first, then also played banjo and guitar, and her sisters said her favorite food was charcuterie and her favorite color was cheetah print. What readers are left with now is a completed public account of her illness, but not a precise death date beyond the November 2 announcement.
