Authorities continue to search for nine individuals missing following the tragic UPS cargo plane crash in Louisville, Kentucky. At least twelve fatalities have been confirmed, as announced by Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg during a recent press conference.

The crash took place on a Tuesday when the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 was taking off. Reports indicate that the left engine caught fire and detached during ascent. UPS Flight 2976 was en route to Honolulu at the time of the incident.
Casualties and Damage
Initial assessments revealed that three crew members were among the deceased, with a young child also believed to be a victim. Mayor Greenberg reported that the number of missing individuals dropped from fifteen on Wednesday to nine. He warned that additional bodies might be found as recovery efforts proceed through the debris.
