New Powerhouse Gym Opens at Partridge Creek Mall
The Powerhouse Gym is set to become a major addition to the Partridge Creek Mall in Clinton Township. This new facility will be the largest Powerhouse Gym in the world, transforming a space previously occupied by Carson’s department store.
Construction and Features of Powerhouse Gym
The Michigan-based gym chain is finalizing renovations on a two-story, 120,000-square-foot building located at the east end of the mall. A prominent new sign has sparked interest, with many motorists stopping to admire the updated storefront.
Although a specific opening date has not been confirmed, the gym is anticipated to begin operations in early 2026, with a focus on winter. Powerhouse Gym’s leadership announced that the membership office is currently open and actively enrolling new members.
Investment and Amenities
Powerhouse Gym plans to invest approximately $11 million into the facility’s interior renovations. Members can expect a diverse range of fitness services, including:
- A swimming pool
- A basketball court
- Yoga and cycling studios
- A dry sauna
- A track and a spin room featuring nightclub-style lighting
- Access to personal trainers and a variety of fitness classes for all ages
Impact on Partridge Creek Mall
The introduction of Powerhouse Gym is expected to increase foot traffic in the mall. This development comes at a time when the shopping center has struggled with vacancies since Carson’s closed in 2018.
The mall currently has one remaining anchor store vacancy, previously occupied by Nordstrom. Clinton Township Supervisor Paul Gieleghem hinted at future developments for this site, indicating plans for a retail experience that incorporates active involvement.
