Shein has stated that it takes the concerns raised seriously and is open to cooperating with Attorney General Paxton’s inquiry. However, Temu has not yet commented on the situation. Shein’s headquarters in Singapore is notable, but it predominantly sells products manufactured in China, where the company originated.

Senator Cotton has pointed out that after changes to U.S. shipping regulations in August, millions of packages from China are now sitting in American warehouses. This shift resulted from President Donald Trump’s repeal of the de minimis rule, a tariff exemption for low-cost shipments.
Cotton claims that this new regulation offers a significant opportunity for the Department of Justice and Homeland Security to investigate Shein and Temu. He stated that American designers and small brands have accused Shein of replicating their designs within days of their release, often at significantly lower prices.
