Bowen Yang, Matt Rogers Craft New Searchlight Pictures Comedy Film
Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, known for their successful podcast Las Culturistas, are embarking on an exciting new project. They are co-writing and co-starring in a comedy film produced by Searchlight Pictures. This film draws inspiration from a specific episode of the podcast titled “Why didn’t Chris and Dan get into Berghain?” This episode delves into the experiences of two Americans attempting to enter Berghain, renowned as the world’s most exclusive nightclub.
Collaboration with Searchlight Pictures
This collaboration marks another chapter in Yang and Rogers’ partnership with Searchlight, following their involvement in the 2022 queer romantic comedy Fire Island. That film, directed by Andrew Ahn, received critical acclaim and was released directly on Hulu.

Additionally, Time magazine recognized it as one of the 100 Best Podcasts of All Time. Recently, the Las Culturistas Culture Awards were televised for the first time on Bravo and are set to return next year on Peacock.
Current Projects
Bowen Yang is currently a cast member on Saturday Night Live and reprises his role as Pfannee in Wicked: For Good. He is also set to voice a character alongside Bill Hader in an upcoming animated film adaptation of The Cat in the Hat.
Matt Rogers has appeared in the Netflix dark comedy No Good Deed alongside Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano. He’s also featured in Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune and is part of the new season of Palm Royale, starring Kristen Wiig, which premiered on Apple TV on November 12.
